Man on Music: Gwen Stephani The Sweet Escape Review

I didn't fall instantly in love with this project. In fact, i instantly hated it! I had skimmed this album (Listened to a short clip of the beginning of the song and determined if I liked it or not), about 2 days ago and wrote it off. Note to Self STOP that! I did the same with Kelis's last project and overlooked some great songs I have found recently...but back to GWEN. I'll be candid I LOVED No Doubt and YES I own all their cd's. So it's hard to see my front girl leave its even harder for me to see her step out of the box musically (yes I am still stuck back on Don't Speak, LOL). I actually quickly threw Gwen in a box with Fergie (someone I cant stand).

Upon listening to this cd again and REALLY listening to write you guys this review I found my tune change...I am CRAZY about this CD, and yes on December 5th when it drops I will be right there. There are so many standout tracks on this CD that make it a must-have especially the Swizz beats produced Now that you've got it, the Neptune's infused You Started It (OMG this song is so me at this point in my life), 4 in the Morning a beautiful pop track by Tony Kanal, Sweet Escape the CD's title track produced by AKON (surprisingly good maybe there is some hope for Chili of TLC who has signed to his label), and the disco-electronica sounding Its a wonderful life (Can't you just hear this coming from Klyie Minogue).

Gwen takes you on a musical voyage from pop, to R&B, to Rap, to disco...Is there no genre of music she can't cover!!! I can listen to this music from start to end without hitting the skip button a feat that is rare with a listener like me. I LOVE it and I am sure u will too.
